Elvira’s Cafe – Three Reasons You’ll Love It!

Elvira's Cafe, a large southern-style restaurant with a wrap-around porch and picnic tables on the grass in front of the building.

If you’re as old as I am, you may remember The Oak Ridge Boys’ huge hit song “Elvira” from 1981. “Elvira…Elvira…My heart’s on fire…for Elvira…” Well, Elvira is back with another huge hit – Elvira’s Cafe.

Our waitress at another restaurant suggested Elvira’s Cafe to us. When an employee of one restaurant recommends another restaurant, I listen – and I’m glad I did!

Tasty food…fast, friendly service…warm, comfortable atmosphere – Elvira’s Cafe has everything you’re looking for in a place to dine.

Why You’ll Love Elvira’s Cafe…

Here are three reasons we love this restaurant and why we believe you will, too!

The Atmosphere is Charming

Dining at Elvira’s is like”eating at Grandma’s house!” It’s relaxed, welcoming, and comfortable.

The cafe is in Wears Valley, TN, just outside Pigeon Forge. It sits in a beautiful valley surrounded by the Great Smoky Mountains. Weather permitting, we recommend sitting on the front porch so you can take in the view.

Inside, the feel is “cozy”. Instead of one large dining room, there are two smaller dining rooms, plus seating on the front porch. The cafe can be crowded without feeling crowded.

Paintings by local artisans hang on the walls to complete the country decor.

The Service is Outstanding

We walked in and were immediately seated. It was no time at all before Becky, our waitress, was filling our mugs with coffee and taking our order. Becky was friendly, attentive, and fast! Our food arrived in about five minutes!

On our way out, the cashier was very pleasant. She asked if we were locals (there is a discount for locals at Elvira’s), and when we replied that we were not, she handed us our receipt and said, “Bring your receipt back the next time you’re here, and we’ll treat you to a 10% discount, just like a local!”

We’ll be back.

The Food is Delicious

When you walk into the dining room, you’ll see a chalkboard listing all of the “specials”. The Spring Berry French Toast caught my eye. It was an excellent choice.

My french toast arrived at our table covered in warm strawberries and blueberries. Paired with scrambled eggs and a side of sausage, it was so good!

Mary Ellen ordered the “Tennessee Haystack”, an open-faced biscuit stacked with ham, bacon, eggs, and homemade sausage gravy. It’s one of the most popular dishes at Elvira’s Cafe, and it did not disappoint.

Other popular dishes include the Fried Green Tomato BLT, the Early Riser Crepe, Chicken and Waffles, and the Philly Cheesesteak. (Elvira’s is open for both lunch and breakfast every day except Monday, as well as dinner on Fridays and Saturdays.)

Got Any Questions?

  • Is Elvira’s Cafe dog-friendly? Yes, as long as you sit outside on the front porch.
  • Will my kids like Elvira’s Cafe? Of course! All the usual breakfast items that kids like – pancakes, waffles, bacon, eggs, etc. – are on the menu, and there is a special kids’ menu for lunch, featuring chicken nuggets, cheeseburgers, PB&J sandwiches, and grilled cheese sandwiches.
