Find Your Favorite Coffee Shop in Gatlinburg, TN
On our recent trip to Gatlinburg, we visited a dozen coffee shops – that’s a LOT of coffee! Here are some of our favorites, with the reason(s) we like each one.
Bloom & Berry Coffee House
Bloom & Berry is a beautiful little coffee shop located in a small shopping area on the east side of Gatlinburg. It’s just across East Parkway from Glades Road and the Arts and Crafts Community. We suggest stopping here for a great cup of coffee before going shopping for local arts and crafts.

Our favorite thing about this coffee shop is its decor. The shop looks like it was decorated by an interior designer! It’s comfortable and beautiful. Even the sign above the door is gorgeous! It has a “casual chic” vibe.

Painted Bear Coffee Company
The Painted Bear Coffee Company has a very different feel to it. It’s rustic, with a cozy, homey vibe. It’s on Buckhorn Road, at the far end of the Arts and Crafts Community, near our favorite place to stay in Gatlinburg – the Buckhorn Inn. You’ll find it in the Mountain Arts Complex.

The Painted Bear has some surprises for you. First, it’s also any art gallery featuring local artisans. Shop for paintings, jewelry, baskets, and more.
Second, it has its own cat, and everyone knows the best coffee shops have a cat or dog!

Coffee & Company
This tiny coffee shop is highly rated by customers. We like several things about it…
First, it is located in The Villages Shopping area, which is the best place to shop in Gatlinburg. You’ll find everything from a pub to an outfitter to a shop for dogs to ice cream shops to…well, you get the picture.
Second, it’s just steps from the Donut Friar, and its tasty donuts!
Third, it opens out onto a large, beautiful courtyard, complete with flowers, a large fountain, and plenty of tables. This is the perfect spot to begin your day with a good cup of coffee and a delicious donut or two…or three.

Cuppa Gatlin Cafe
There are two Cuppa Gatlin Cafes in Gatlinburg. The original is at the big intersection where Highway 321 from Pigeon Forge joins Parkway in Gatlinburg.
The second location is in the Glenstone Lodge on Airport Road in Gatlinburg.

The original location features a small indoor seating area and an outdoor patio. Though the interior was looking a little worn, the coffee and the service were both excellent. My wife had a mango smoothie – I highly recommend it!

Pro Tip
When visiting the original Cuppa Gatlin, park in the parking garage across the street from the coffee shop or in the parking lot next to Anakeesta. You will have to walk across the intersection of Parkway and Highway 321. This is the busiest, most confusing intersection in Gatlinburg.
For your safety, only cross when the electric pedestrian signs permit you to, and please only cross the roads at a designated crosswalk!
Gatlinburg Grind
This was our second (or third?) visit to Gatlinburg Grind. It’s a small shop featuring great coffee made on an antique coffee machine, pastries baked fresh daily, and the “Pink Drink”, a tasty and healthy option made with coconut milk and a few other nutritious ingredients.

The Gatlinburg Grind is in the Arts and Crafts Community on Glades Road. It’s next door to our favorite shop, Cliff Dwellers, which features local artisans. Ogle’s Broom Shop is around the corner – stop in, you’ll never look at brooms the same way again.

The Coffee Syndicate
This is Mary Ellen’s (my wife) favorite coffee shop in Gatlinburg. It’s hidden in the back of Elks Plaza on Parkway, just across the street from Ober Gatlinburg. It sits next to the Best Italian Cafe & Pizzeria, a long-time popular dining spot in Gatlinburg.

The coffee here is excellent, and the service is very friendly. There are some small tables on the sidewalk outside the coffee shop for seating.
My favorite thing about Coffee Syndicate (other than the very cool name) is the large selection of pastries, cookies, and sweets. Yum!

Smoky Mountain Coffee & Creamery
This is my favorite coffee shop in Gatlinburg. It’s hidden in Calhoun’s Village, behind Calhoun’s Restaurant on Parkway.

I like several things about this little coffee shop.
- It has great coffee!
- It’s also a creamery that serves ice cream.
- It’s tucked away from the crowds and noise.
- It features a lovely, shaded seating area.
- The service is fast and friendly. We spent several minutes visiting with Carlos (the manager) and Camry (the barista – it was her first day on the job!) They were both very personable.

Morning Mist Cafe
This delightful spot is in the Morning Mist Village, a wonderful shopping area featuring local arts and crafts, in the Gatlinburg Arts and Crafts Community.

The Morning Mist has a lot going for it. The family-owned and operated cafe has friendly service and ample indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor deck sits on top of a small creek. They serve a delicious breakfast, and they are dog-friendly. Plus, they serve a great cup of coffee.

Starbucks
Starbucks is everywhere, and Gatlinburg is no exception. You’ll find it on Parkway, right in the center of town.
You already know Starbucks. It has a distinctive taste, a distinctive look, and offers a distinctive experience. The Starbucks in Gatlinburg is known for its very friendly baristas, even though it is a very busy place,

Waffle de Lys
Who says a coffee shop can’t also be a gourmet waffle shop as well?
You’ll find this little cafe/shop in the back left corner of Reagan Terrace Mall on Parkway. You may sit in the courtyard outside or take a seat at one of the tables inside.
Waffle de Lys serves excellent coffee, but if you neglect the gourmet waffles, you’re missing out. I’ll let the picture below speak a thousand words.
